The New York City Christian Harmony Singing takes place annually in mid May.

In May 2025 we hosted our second annual All-Day Singing from the Christian Harmony, on Saturday, May 17, at First Presbyterian Church on Henry Street, Brooklyn Heights. Facebook event. Partiful link.

The details:

Please join us in serene Brooklyn Heights in New York City for an All-Day singing from the Christian Harmony (2010 Revision)!

We'll be singing at First Presbyterian Church Brooklyn at 124 Henry Street, where the NYCADS was held in 2017.

• 9:30 am: registration and set up

• 10 am: singing begins

• 12:45 pm: shared meal; the main lunch will be catered but you are welcome to bring breakfast, snacks, desserts to share

• 3:30 pm: singing ends

All are welcome. No experience with singing from the Christian Harmony or shape note music is required. Loaner books will be available.

There will be a social following the singing on Saturday evening.

We'll also have a bonus third Sunday singing from the 1991 Edition of the Sacred Harp. That singing will be held on the Upper West Side in the space of the Christian Community on 309 W 74th street from 1-4. Additional details are forthcoming.

And of course, please invite your friends! This singing is open to the public, with no prior experience with the Christian Harmony required. (Though do RSVP on Partiful so we can get a sense of how many people are going to be there.)

Traveling singers: we look forward to hosting and singing with you! Please be in contact if you need help finding accommodations or making plans, or for any information about singing in New York City. If you're in town before or after the singing, we sing every Wednesday evening, and would always love to sing with you.

We will sing from 10:30am to 4:00pm. Doors open at 10:00am if you’d like to come early and help us set up!
