Update as of April 24:
To allow singers to attend the Oliver Kindig-Stokes Memorial Singing in York, PA, seven-shape singing from the Christian Harmony and Mull's Convention #7 has been POSTPONED from this Saturday, April 26, to Saturday, May 3, from 2 to 5:00.
On Sunday, April 27, and Sunday, May 18, Nancy M. will be teaching workshop-style classes aimed at new and confused singers at Jalopy Theatre and School of Music on Columbia Street, Brooklyn. The classes will work systematically through practicalities like reading the shapes and beating time while also introducing the history of the shapenote/Sacred Harp tradition. Tickets (you can take one class or both).

In May we will be hosting our second annual All-Day Singing from the Christian Harmony, on Saturday, May 17, at First Presbyterian Church on Henry Street, Brooklyn Heights. Facebook event here. Or find the details on this web page.
There are Sacred Harp singings in New York City most Wednesdays and some weekends. No singing experience is necessary, and all are welcome to attend. Books are available for loan or purchase at every gathering.
